The reference photo of this horse stopped me in my tracks. Days went by, even weeks and images of that roman nosed, earless bridle horse kept surfacing in my mind.

I drove home from Texas back into Canada with excitement and anticipation of what was to come from these images. And as the world stopped moving one week after my return, due to covid, I turned inwards and went to work in my studio.

They say good things come to those who wait. After having this project come to fruition and a long time in the making, I am now a steadfast believer in this statement.

Painting keeps me right, and I am better at days end for it. With clarity, I come realized there were only two choices here: To come out the other side a stronger or weaker version of myself.
