OL' VISALIA

Created to reflect the roots of the Spanish and Mexican horsemen of 18th and early 19th century, California. To which the vaquero culture flourished and it was within this rich heritage that the iconic Visalia saddle was born, a lasting symbol of the California bridle horse.

In 1949, the National Reined Cow Horse Association was established to preserve and promote this legacy. Originally founded as the California Reined Cow Horse Association, the NRCHA continues more than 75 years later to uphold the vaquero tradition through competition, education, and a strong network of affiliate clubs—introducing new generations to the timeless art of the reined cow horse.

Shannon created this piece solely in support of the NRCHA, with the intention of honoring its mission and celebrating the enduring spirit, heritage, and horsemanship it represents.
